Hoj. Ahmad Marvi, the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi said the above in the ceremony of bestowing decrees to the new AQR servants which was held at the same time as Eid al-Ghadir.
While congratulating the Eid to the human society and the servants of Imam Reza (AS), he considered serving in the system of Hazrat Reza as a very heavy, spiritual and blessed duty and expressed hope that the servants perform their duties correctly and in accordance with the consent of the compassionate Imam.
Referring to the words of Imam Ali (AS) and recounting a brief history of Islam he stated, “In the Battle of Khandaq, all the evil stood against all Islam and the battle ended in favor of Islam. After that day, the front of disbelief never stood on its feet again. In the great conquest of Mecca, the case of infidels and polytheists was closed by the Prophet (pbuh), but even then the verse This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion was not revealed, but it was revealed in Ghadir.”
“In Ghadir, the central issue was not to raise Imam Ali (AS) for guardianship. During the 23 years of the life of the Prophet of Islam, he had been introduced in every opportunity and situation. Various verses were revealed over his virtues and high position, and many narrations and interpretations by Prophet were narrated, which were unanimously acknowledged by the Sunnis and Shia and even the enemies of Imam Ali,” he said.
He pointed out that in Ghadir, Islam and the Islamic community found management and a governor. All the wishes of the enemies were that with the demise of the Prophet, Islam will also disappear; because there was no one to pursue it. Ghadir was, in fact, the continuation of Islam.
Emphasizing that Ghadir belongs to all human beings, he added, “The Prophet solidified Islam in Ghadir; he opened the way for the Muslims and all humanity with this great movement and if the purpose of Ghadir and the Prophet had been fully realized, the course of human life would have changed and it would not reach the today’s disorder.”
He further emphasized that we should be constantly grateful for the blessings of the guardianship and the love of Imam Ali and Hazrat Fatemeh (SA) and their progeny. There is no blessing higher than this that we have been placed in the path of the guardianship and following these Infallibles.
“We are all servants of Imam Reza in this sacred place and we are closer to this luminous system by wearing the service uniform; Therefore, we have a heavier duty and responsibility, and God, the Infallibles, as well as the people expect more from us,” he noted.
“Due to this connection and appointment to the system of Imamate and guardianship, many affairs, behaviors and words may be lawful and ordinary for the general public, but it is not permissible for us; because society has a different view of Razavi servants. Much blood has been shed to continue the path of the guardianship; even more than the Islam itself,” he commented.
Elsewhere in his speech, he referred to the recent tragic events in Lebanon and the explosion of Beirut Port saying, “Some people have such hatred for the guardianship and Shiism in their hearts that the root of the Beirut explosion still not clear, Al-Saud TV channels accused Hezbollah.”
He stated that Lebanon was the center of Shiism in the past and Lebanese scholars and elders came to Iran during the Safavid period and carried out influential actions, one example of which is Sheikh Baha’i.
“The blessing of the guardianship has not reached us cheaply. The blood of thousands of people has been shed to maintain it including many jurisprudents and scholars. They paid a lot to preserve it and thus we have a very heavy task today,” he said.
Hoj. Marvi in the end remarked that on the Day of Judgment the martyrs of the path of the guardianship throughout history will ask us that in return for these lives and property sacrificed, what service have we rendered? What would be our answer? Have we made the guardianship’s tree stronger or weaker?
