Clash between the Shia community and members of outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi leader (LeJ) Malik Ishaq’s terrorists resulted in the death of one Wahabi-Nasabi terrorist and injuring of Six Shia Muslims. According to the Shiite News Correspondent, The armed Wahabi terrorists were torched 10 motorcycles in Alipur city, district Muzzafargarh
on Sunday afternoon, when they were organized the reception of the outlawed terrorists chief Malik Ishaq in Ali pur.
Malik Ishaq, who is charged with the murder of over 70 people and is the chief of the banned terrorists outfit of LeJ, had been released on bail in July. Since then, he has been touring various locations in Punjab delivering fiery speeches, preaching hatred and violence, mostly directed towards the Shia community.
On Sunday, Ishaq had planned to travel to Panjnad, Muzzafargarh by way of Alipur, a Shia majority area. The local community, led by Sardar Qazim Ali Haideri, raised their concerns over the passage of the LeJ entourage through their area with the police and warned that the movement of LeJ through the town may result in a clash.
The police subsequently announced that Ishaq’s entry to the town was banned but the terrorists of banned outfit attacked the Local Shia Mosque of the Shia dominated village situated at Ali Pur. Eye witnesses said that the terrorists of Wahabi-Nasabi Lashkar-e-Jhangvi led by Malik Ishaq by chanting the slogans against Shia Muslims were attacked the Local Mosque of shia Muslims.
In defense of the Mosque and Imam Bargah Sallonwala inhabitant Shia confronted the large number of armed terrorists but allow them to succeed in their evil design to attack the Holy Mosque. IN the result of the confrontation one terrorists belongs to Wahab-Nasabi terrorists killed on the spot while number of Wahabi terrorists injured, however, Six Shia men were also injured in the clash.
Late Saturday night, LeJ supporters putting up banners clashed with locals. The police managed to quickly control the situation. However, on Sunday, hundreds of LeJ and Ishaq’s supporters swept into Alipur riding on bikes and other vehicles and started chanting anti-Shia slogans.
Despite requests to the local police to intervene, it was some time before the police arrived. Alipur Sadr police station SHO, Imtiaz Ahmed confirmed the Shiite News that one member belonging to the LeJ had been killed in the riots.
Following the clash, the local Shia a groups withdrew to the Sallonwala Imambargah, while Ishaq’s supporters regrouped at the Madrassah Jamia Hussainia.
Police has now cordoned off the affected area and are trying to mediate a resolution between the two groups.
Despite a restriction on Malik Ishaq’s movement, his name being on the fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act, he, and his co-accused have been moving freely in Punjab, complete with police protection.
The entry of Malik Ishaq and Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah, a close aide of Ishaq’s and coaccused in various cases of terrorism registered against the LeJ leader, has been banned within the limits of District Toba Tek Singh for three months due to provocative speeches and inciting violence.
Intelligence agencies have also sent a warning to Punjab Chief Minister, saying Ishaq’s movement, if allowed, could cause trouble but the biased Punjab government has given the free hand to Malik Ishaq to perform his sectarian activities.
