"The Years of the Event" will be completed within the next few months, director Saeid Chari said.
Valiollah Momeni has been chosen to play the role of Imam Khomeini, he added.
"The movie depicts parts of Imam Khomeini's life, which has been less reviewed. It narrates the events between the years 1987 to 1989 with less attention to the political aspects of the Imam's life," Chari said.
